European Union

If any of your EPs is traveling to any country or territory belonging to the European Union, they must take into consideration that;

  • There’s no visa requested, Mexicans are allowed to get into any of the European Union countries or territories for less than 90 natural days with their Mexican passport, the passport should have validity of at least 6 moths at the beginning of the travel.

  • Round Trip Flight Ticket booked.

  • Economic Solvence Proof ( Cash, credit/debit card, or bank with a bank statement) at least 57.26 euros for the first 8 days of stay and 64.14 euros per the remanent days.

You must know that these requirements might be asked at arrival or not, most of the times they’re not asked , but this can be a very valuable advice to EPs travelling.

Who are the European Union Countries?

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and the UK.

THIS ONLY APPLIES IF YOUR EP IS STAYING MORE THAN 90 DAYS IN EUROPE.

The Schengen Space is a group of certain countries and territories that share equal economic and migration policies, the Schengen Space countries are;

If your EP is going to stay for more than 90 natural days, experience two or more GCDP internships in any of these countries, he/she must have a Schengen space visa.

Your EP must request an appointment in the embassy or consulate of any of these countries in Mexico to apply for this visa, the EP must require the visa in the country where he/she will stay at the beginning.

Example; My EP is doing a GCDP in Italy and Greece, she wants to travel around Europe afterwards.

Then your EP must request an appointment in the Italian embassy in Mexico City or the nearest Italian consulate of her/his city.

Every Schengen country shares more or less the same requirements into issuing a visa to the needy party. However there are slim differences here and there, depending on the consulate/embassy on the required documents additional to the main identification papers and your current economic status.

A unified exemplar of the requested documents with the additional information is meticulously described and listed below:

  1. The application form must be fully completed and signed in the corresponding blanks.

  2. One photo is to be attached; the photo must have a passport format, full-face capture, and a light background. The photo must be recently taken.

  3. The passport as well as all the copies of your previous visas, valid for at least 3 months prior to your departure is required. The passport must have at least two blank pages.

  4. One must have a copy of the reservation of the return ticket for the time intended to be travelling.

  5. The travel medical insurance policy is to be secured, covering any medical emergency with hospital care and travel back to ones native country due to medical motives. This health insurance policy has to cover expenses up to 30,000 euros, the sum depending on the residing days, and also it has to be valid in all Schengen countries. The health insurance policy must be purchased before picking up the visa and in your visa is refused you can cancel it!

If your EP is travelling around Europe or wants 2 GCDP experiences, it is better to have them in a Schengen Space Country and then in one non-schengen space, or the EP will need to travel around Europe or other continent.

Example; My EP is doing 2 GCDPs, one in Romania ( Non-Schengen Space Country) and the other one in Hungary ( Schengen Space Country);

      YOUR EP DOES NOT NEED SCHENGEN SPACE VISA, as long as;

  • He/She does not travel more in Schengen Space Countries.

  • If he/she comes back to Mexico from Romania or Hungary does not matter.

  • If he/she stays at least 90 days inside Schenge Space countries and then goes out of the space and comes back to Mexico from a NON Schengen Space country, your EP does not need visa.
